    Drywall joints

What do you guys use for taping up drywall joints. Plastic Mesh or Paper? I know they usually use paper in the corner cuz you can fold it but on the shows on the DIY channel some use mesh and others use paper.

I use paper. I'm sure you'll get pro's and con's on both types...but paper works best for me.

fiber mesh tape here. basically b/c i like how it finishes, and there's no chance at release whatsoever.

i tape corners with paper though.

I find the mesh finishes with a higher strength joint and it's easier to do flat repairs with it. If your corners are good and tight the mesh works fine but a plastic corner tool makes it easier and you get a slightly higher build deep in the corner. When the sheetrock has a bit of gap in the corners... folded paper can cover it nicely.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

I use paper on outside corners, and mesh everywhere else.

I use paper on inside corners, mesh on flats and the metal stuff on outside corners. I've been told the mesh tape eventually cracks but I've never seen that happen.

Outside corners - Metal corner things
                Inside corners - Mesh
                Joints - Mesh

Never liked using paper. Never had problems with getting the mesh in corners. Have filled in some good size gaps in the corner with mesh.
