    More dumbest things

What's the dumbest thing you've done while working with wood? For me, it was before I got any "real tools". I took a circular saw, and used it upside down, mounted to a piece of plywood. Hey, I got a table saw! Then I was going to rip a 2X4 freehand. Needless to say, it's now kickback time. I caught it right in the gut. Never went to the doctor, but I stayed in bed for a couple days.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

I did that same thing with a reverted circular saw.

Dumbest thing? Reaching out to touch the bearing on a flush trim bit before the router had stopped spinng down after I turned it off. I still don't remember why I wanted to touch it in the first place. Got a burr on my fingernail from the bearing but nothing else.

The dumbest thing I've ever done with wood is saw it up and try to make something out of it.

My dumbest thing was telling LOML that I could build that better and for half the price!. At least I got to buy a new tool......one for pulling my foot out of my mouth.
