Thanks for all the great answers. Looks like a couple of ABC type extinguishers and a hose in each area will do the trick. The new home is within 3 blocks of the nearest station. At this house, I never worried too much as the station is less than a hundred yards, just drive the big truck out of the building and you can hit my house with the water canon.
With the new home, I'm going to have to put a water line closer to the garage, oddly the only outside faucet is at the front. Certainly a good project in early spring, before I start the garage shop.
