    Name my puppy

Update: Thanks for all the great suggestions. We tried a huge list of names to see what he responded to. He ignored all of them but one, so his name is now Bamboo.

LOML and I just picked up a shiba inu puppy last night, but we haven't thought of a name for him yet, so we're soliciting ideas. Our last shiba (my avatar) was named Bender after a character in the cartoon Futurama.

This really isn't just a cheap excuse to post pictures of the new pup.

Cute puppy dog. I've always liked the name Jake, but he doesn't look like a Jake. Hmm.... how about Inigo?

          I've got it!

Looks like a Rex to me...but that's no fun.

          So, I propose Salvador.

          Dunno why, just thought so.

My dogs are both pugs (don't ask, I'm married)

and the female, fawn colored pug is Juanita.
the male black colored pug is Inky.

Just call him Avatar. sounds both noble and strong. Then you'd have an excuse to make him your avatar.

I got my wife a puppy for her birthday. The next day we were having a party.. Someone had set a cup of beer down on the grass. The dog started lapping it up. I think he became addicted after that . That is how he got the name, ( BUD )

You took the words outa my mouth. I was thinking about the John Wayne movie-I think it was Big Jake-where he had what looked like a Belgian Tervurin (sp) named "Dog".

Dang, the breed name sounds good to me, Shiba or Inu.

I usually wait a while and let my dogs name themselves. That said, I always liked "Thunder Paws" for an active dog that you can hear coming miles away. If you were south of the Mason Dixon "Dawg" is always good. My latest is named "Palidin" as he kinda rode into our lives from the pound after the sudden and sad death of the deloved "Traveller."

Forgot to say that he's good looking pup. I bet he can hear a can opener from a mile away.
