    Recording FROM a DVR

I have a DVR from my cable company. I have several things recorded that I would like to retain permanently and free up space on my DVR. What is the best and cheapest way to accomplish this? A DVD recorder?

It has ethernet and USB ports, and I know a thing or two about networks, but I have not attempted to "network" it, and I don't even jnow if that's feasible.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

Here's a thread from ecoustics.com with the very question you're asking.
