In earlier times when hosting a party, the host would place a pineapple on the mantle at the beginning of the party. When the hostess decided to end the party, they would quietly remove the pineapple from the mantle. The guests would take notice that the pineapple was removed and thank their host and leave. At West Washington Guest House our pineapple will always be on display to welcome our guests. |
