Ahem! I hate threads with no pictures. That means I have to read and comprehend with no eye candy.

Here's one to tide you over until I get back out to the workshop. The heater is currently working to warm it up.

The DeWalt planer I had put very nice finish cuts out, I wish I still had it sometimes but the combo I got does okay. Your experience is typical of putting really sharp blades on after using dull ones.

BTW, it didn't really make a difference which setting on the Dewalt I used, both were smooth.
Of that class of planer, that Dewalt is generally held to produce the best surface, even where blades are identically sharp. Most comparable units are two-knife, so they end up having to work harder and remove more material per pass. The Ryobi is probably not capable of producing the same finish at peak performance, let alone comparing old blades to new.

I tried to help you. I went to images.google.com and did a search for
Dewalt 733 and got a lot of pictures.
Then I did a search in succession for
                  dewalt 733 with sexy model
                  dewalt 733 with model
                  dewalt 733 with sexy girl
                  thickness planer with sexy model
                  thickness planer with girl
                  planer with girl

in no case was I able to find a photo of a planer let alone a DW733 with a girl much less a pretty or even sexy girl. Not even an ugly girl!

MY sad conclusion is that if you choose to be constant company with a thickness planer you will have virtually no chance of meeting persons of the female persuasion.

In further research I did a image search for woodworking girl and the yes there were actually woodworking girls. The bad news is that the most complex tool they are capable of using is apparently a drill, a hammer or a handsaw.

Or did you mean by "eye candy" a picture of the planer??? If that's the case, that's apparently the problem.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

If it hasn't been said already, make sure you keep the table waxed. I usually get sniping if I forget to do that every once and a while.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I may get some sniping for this too, but girls are pretty nice when waxed or so I hear.
Loring, I was talking about that planer. Very nice machine. Puts my old Delta to shame.
