Cross Country in a Piper Cub

Be patient, lots of good pictures.

This is just a site I came across, it is not me, however I wish it were me.

That was an interesting photojournal. Some great pictures in there.

I guess these 2 weren't in any real rush. I had no idea how relatively slow
this mode of transportation would be. Average 66mph. I drove cross-country
in 3 days and my average speed was at least that fast. Of course, I wasn't
taking pictures and taking in the sights.

A Cub wasn't designed for high speed, but flying in one is a great experience.

If I had a bucket list, I think something like that would be on it. What a way to see the USA, low and slow. Thanks for the great pictures.

I'm not sure my wife would have the patience to sit in a Cub for a few days but we have made some long trips in a 4 seat airplane. Rest assured that the view is still pretty amazing at 8 or 9 thousand feet and 175 MPH. Nothing at all like the view from a jet.

I don't have the right kid of equipment for aerial photography but some other folks have taken outstanding photos from my back seat, including a few that ended up in this book about the Comb Ridge area of southern Utah.

Thanks for posting. That was amazing! It completely changes the meaning of flyover country and it's too bad more people can't see America that way.

I really enjoyed looking at the pics. Great job!

When you were NW of Indianapolis, you weren't too far from my little corner of the earth. You could have stopped in for coffee.

With that Cub he probably could have landed on your street if it was straight and 500 or so feet long.
