    Sawzalls and hole saws, yep. We had a plumber that took a big holesaw to several girder trusses on a condo job a few years ago. It was only spanning a double garage and carrying 2 more floors of framing and the roof loads. He cut through 75% of the top chord.

      ooooh....ouch to what Pellegrini said....If I was the foreman I think I would fire the bleeper right off the roof.....

      But seriously, would it have killed the guy to double up the left most stud and build a header? My other question is didn't he have enough room coming out of the fireplace to wiggle the black iron pipe back into the wall cavity? Did he really need to take out that stud at all?

        They wanted to, but with the tight timetable their management said no. The really bad this was that the plumbing company was one of the few that actually made money on the job. The building company really beat up on all the subs. I didn't like doing business with them.
