    Walmart worker trampled to death\\

Sad reflection on our society. The media hypes this so called event, the stores take advantage of it and the customer act like cows rushing to the feed box.

Woops, wrong link. Links to the story are posted below, I am blushing.

.....and for what, some piece of $hit plastic crap made in a land far far away that your gift receiver will use and cherish for all of 28.5 days? meanwhile several families will be without their father/mother/brother/sister/etc.?
Just another reason that I won't shop this time of year. The dregs of society show up, you know, the ones that dont know how to act in public and could care less if they trample you in pursuit of their current plastic god.

                        Crazy shoppers.

Before Black Fridays, I work in a store (TG&Y) where we had red light special nights. We would drag that light around and everyone would follow. I was standing back using a walkie talkie to communicate to the guy announcing the specials on the PA system (old time technology). We had a clone of the big wheel that wasn't selling and we red lighted it. One of our other assistant managers marked them as we sold them. We announced a price for this thing and no one bit. They all just stood around and grumbled. I told the guy on the PA and he said stand back he would get rid of them. He announced a ridiculous price around $4.00 or so and the crowd surged after them. The poor guy doing the pricing got shoved on top of the pile of cycles, and the people actually pulled them out from under him. It was funny to watch, but I was glad he wasn't hurt. We were a little more careful from then on.

The annual sacrifices to the almighty dollar, and human greed.

It is very sad to see. While I don't work "retail", I do work in a business, where people stop in during/after, etc. You get the people who are off work and think you have time to visit (your AT work, and have EXTRA work due to being closed and more offwork people coming in), and you get the people who are grumpy from being out fighting the crowds.

I always wonder if you tried to hire people to sit/stand/pitch a tent on a sidewalk and remain there all night, how many people would take the job and what they would need to be paid.

Even if you manage to save $200 on something you really would have bought anyway at full price, how is that worth it? And that is before you consider the possibility of death for yourself or the merry band of gentlemen you spend the night with.
