    Fruit bowl from Jacaranda wood

I got some Jacaranda pieces from my tree-trimmer friend, and after sealing them and letting them dry for about two years, I decided to turn one piece into a fruit bowl for my wife. Interestingly, like the camphor I've processed, the Jacanda didn't check or split noticeably during the drying. It turned nicely, and although it resembles ash, it is somewhat lighter in weight and not quite as hard. Picture and video link below - thanks for watching!

I like it, and it looks especially nice with the accent ring on top. I could barely see it but it does look great. I haven't tried that yet, but I do have the tool to do that, just not the skill.

Thanks Hank, it was a fun turning, the wood cut nicer than the ash I've been turning lately.

Nice bowl Bill. I have a few that I plan to turn in the next few weeks.

Thank you #Haninga - I missed this post due to being away; not quite master level, but I appreciate the kind words. I enjoyed the turning and being one of the few still in my house, enjoy its functionality
