    Pen and display box

This is a pen I turned this week for a white elephant gift exchange at work. The pen is cherry, walnut and sheet styrene with a CA finish. The display box is maple and walnut with turned brass hinge pins, finished with danish oil. I hope you enjoy!

That is a nice pen! The box is really cool too< I like the design. Probably more work than the pen? Anyway someone is going to be lucky walking away with that.

      Thank you!
Once I figured out how I wanted to do the hinges, the box wasn't too bad. Routing out the pen trough was a bit rough the first time through! I realized very quickly that my router table fence was woefully inadequate. When I got those issues resolved it came together in a couple evenings. The guy that won it is also one of our product photographers, so I was able to get some good photos of it.

It is styrene sheet layered into the pen blank at a 45° angle. I used CA to assemble the blank, then drilled the blank and inserted the brass tube as normal with CA.

Thank you all for the great comments. They are much appreciated!
