Jet JJ-4 Jointer Parts

I have Jet JJ-4 Jointer that needs a new blade cover. I have not been able to find this part. Any recommendations? Also, I am interested in selling it to free up space. Anyone know how much I should ask? I am in northern Virginia.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the site.

I had a very difficult time finding any substantial information about this jointer. Meaning, there is probably not a lot of interest for it. There was one post I found on another site where a guy in 2009 was buying one. The seller wanted $75 and his had the guard.

I'd be honest that the guard is missing and ask for $120 hoping the buyer doesn't talk me down below $100, but I'd also be happy with $75. I've seen people make new guards for their jointer out of wood so that isn't a deal breaker.

Thanks Paul. I have decided to make the guard using a piece of birch plywood. I will use the broken guard as a pattern. It may actually work better since it will be thicker. Appreciate the guidance on pricing.
