    Hand Held Spindle Sander

A few of you may remember the hand held spindle sander that Porter Cable had 10 - 15 years ago, well, Grizzly now has one. The PC one was out about 3 to 4 years or so and they discontinued it. I really wanted one but was overseas and it was kind expensive back then. $300 or so IIRC. Could be wrong with the memory.

I even looked for one (PC spindle sander) on ebay about 18 months ago when I was building the bunk bed for my daughter, but the one seller considered it a collectors item and priced as much.

I had about 80 spindles with 4 cutouts each that I certainly could have used it. But I fixed my broken bench top HF spindle sander and used that.

This one is much less expensive and it will have a place in some of our workshops.

    What do you think?

OH! Just noticed NOT YET IN STOCK.

Don't know how good the Grizzly will be, but a few years ago I found myself in need of a spindle sander, too. I also wanted that PC one and saw Norm use it several times. I have the Ridgid OSS but being able to bring the tool to the work seems like a big advantage in some cases. Once it's available, let us know how it is.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

For that price, I'd still get the Ridgid OSS from HD for $199. It always scores well in reviews and can be found used on CL, too. I got mine for $125 or $150 on CL a few years ago.

I saw this in my regular YouTube browsing. Make your own hand held spindle sander. You've had to design a base to keep it at 90deg to your edge but there are still plenty of times where that isn't even the important part. I just want to sand a curved edge or enlarge an existing hole.

            Got an extra $20? Why not make 3 hand-held Spindle Sanders? Subscribe Here - https://www.youtube.com/user/rusticman1973Instagram - https://www.instagram.com...
