    Black Gum Tupelo Tiny Table

I finished this table last night as a gift. It has a Matt Bitersweet painted bottom, the same dimensions I used in the run of coaster tables I built last year. The top is 13"X 13", bottom beveled, red oak stain w/wax finish Black Gum Tupelo. This piece of wood has more character than any I've worked with yet. I've got to get to work building another like it, my wife says when you give one person a present you have to give the other a present too. Oh. Click image for larger version

Awesome Cap - love the grain in that top, reminds me of the California Peppertree I've been turning. Well done all around!

funky grain, I like it. Is Matt Bitersweet a person or a specific type of finish?

Matt Bitersweet is rustoleum universal spray paint color. Dark almost black brown. Worst design paint can I've ever used, spits and sputters like a dog sneezing , and the spray mecanism leaks and paints your hand more than the table, wear gloves.
