    First project ever..

    Very basic.
Made some mistakes that will be noted for next time..

Bought some tools a while ago and had no where to store them. Watched YouTube channels and got bitten by the bug.
I have no background in wood work, but seeing some people online and taking notes plus using commonsense. Seemed like a good thing to do.
There are so many possibilities of things to make or fix around the house.

Have bought since initial tool set - BT3000 (this forum helped me a lot with setup), Ryobi router and table, Ryobi 10 inch Mitre saw and various +one tools.

It looks very nice and serviceable. I never would have guessed it was your first project had you no mentioned it.

        Nice job!

I like how you thought that out and made a very nice stand for you Ryobi cordless tools. A fine start for many projects to come.

        Thanks for the post,

Great for a first time project. Keep making tool holders, you will need them!

Correct, Made the first one from plans online that seem to suit my current situation.

Funny thing is, I was going to build individual boxes/platforms and mount in a straight line via french cleat.

Found this instead and thought - why not.

As we all know - nothing is forever in a tool shed..

Good job, especially for a first project. Shop fixtures and furniture is are a good way to develop and hone skills for future projects.

Looks great. Feels good to get a "real" project under you belt, doesn't it? And we're all continually learning... I've been dabbling in this hobby for 12 years now and still feel like a beginner!

It is interesting that this thread is appearing at this time (for me) as I am in the process of building a TOOL storage bin for my tools and cases, somewhat like this:

Rolling Storage Cart, Woodworking Plans, Workshop & Jigs, Shop Cabinets, Storage, & Organizers, $2 Shop Plans, Intermediate

My version will not be divided right side/left side. And will have hanger hooks on the side to hold various cords at oft used items. I plan on two shallow drawers to hold, driver bits and, disk changing tools and a few hook & loop sanding disks for quick use.

This is an item that I have been planning for about 3 or 4 years and saw the above link a year ago.

Tool racks are a great first project! You are a visionary! Some of us are not!
