    Another one gone

Here's my latest urn. It was my wife's dog, Lamont. I called him Turd, and he always responded more to that than his actual name.

Body is walnut with cherry accents, finished with a few coats of rattle can lacquer. I was planning on getting a custom dog tag for the base, but I think it'd be too much after finishing it.

Funny, after building so many urns for big dogs (we're a Great Dane family), I overcompensated when designing this one. It's about 5 times larger than needed.

Normally I like to segment joint and turn an urn, but thought I'd try something different this time. Not sure I like finger joints, but it might grow on me.

A nice memorial for Lamont. Always sad when one of those critters leaves us.
