    Jewelry Box Redux

I built this same Jewelry Box a while back for my wife and decided I would add a couple of small refinements and make one for my daughter for Christmas 2015 ... so ... one present down and several more to go ... I added some etching on the glass and used a brass (rather than wooden) necklace hanger. I bought the hanger from Rockler and although I DO like the piece I think the price is absurd but I couldn't find anything I liked better for a reasonable price ...

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

        Thank you.

The wood is quarter sawn red oak. I used a water based analine dye for color and then 3 coats of gloss "tung oil" as a finish. I almost had enough scrap qsro for the build, but had to go to a local hardwood supplier that I typically avoid like the plague because of their outrageous prices for the top piece. I ended up with an 8ft x 8inch x 1inch board for that little top... Sooo I've got some left. [emoji10]
