A Couple of Small Projects

Been trying to finish up some projects that have been in the works.

First, I got tired of mops, brooms, dusters, etc in the way. The Rubbermaid and other 'organizers' didn't work for me. This was my solution. Maple construction with laquer finish. The blocks have a verticle groove routed into them and the 'rollers' are 2 pieces of 3/4" ply with a self stick rubbere layer on the contact area.



SWMBO had the boys rearrange her sewing room. A twin bed is in there for guests and takes up a lot of room. I made 3 storage boxes on casters to go under the bed. 1/2" China Birch with 1/4" Birch ply bottoms, sprayed with laquer.


To get the boxes on casters and still be deep enough to be useable, the corners are boxed in around them.

Those both look like really useful projects, Pappy. I wonder if you could dream up a way to get the same number of brooms, etc. in half the width. I have a funky plastic thing about 12x24x24, with slots in the top and bottom for broom handles to stick through. They're always getting put in slanted, with a mop top getting in the way of a broom or whatever, and I figure there's gotta be a better way. But I only have about 30" width . . .

put some of them up-side down and you can get more in a smaller space!

You should be able to mount them on about 4" centers that way.

Thanks for the kind words, gents. Understand that projects in recent posts were done over SEVERAL weeks and set aside so I could spray the finish on all of them at the same time.
