    I've been FRAMED!

Last year when I did the flooring/painting in the living room I forbid my wife to rehang the pictures. She's got a gf that sells Home Interiors and our place is polluted with mismatched frames and shelves. This is an example of why I refused to put holes in fresh paint ....

The frames not only 'don't match ... but they don't even go together, I was disgusted with them when we had them hanging side by side before the redo and there was no way I was gonna hang them again the way they were.

I came up with an idea to make all matching frames for the room, with hopes of pulling the entire room together into one sort of 'theme', I was a little concerned with this idea as I don't personally know anyone that's tried this in their own house, but hey, I'm adventurous.

Here's the end result, I originally planned on soft maple frames with a red mahogany stain to match an existing shelf we have, but after having absolutely no luck with matching that shelf, I threw in the towel and used MDF with a gloss white lacquer finish. I think this is gonna look a lot better once the white crown moulding is up.

If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'

Very nice job. It looks good and modern. I can't believe how nice the frames look.

OK, Mrs. Wallnut, would it really have scored points, since he forbid her from hanging her pictures to begin with? Or just keep him from being a poster child for Bob Barker? (aka, have you spouse, spayed or neutered )
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Looks good - crown molding will definitely make it better, but I also think that these walls would REALLY benefit from some wall frames.

Since it took him awhile to do the frames...I hope it scored him some points.
