Hello all,
Several years ago I bought a Radial Arm Saw from a guy from my church but since I didn't have a good place to set it up it it just sat on an old AV stand waiting for me to build something to park under it. Since that time I got a 12" Compound Miter Saw. I've seen that a couple of people have made a stand that accommodated both the CMS and RAS and that appealed to me. Then, in the autumn of 2005 I saw a drawing in Fine Woodworking in the letters section. Below is that drawing. I liked that it had long board and sheet storage. The cut-off storage on the front was a nice touch too.
The only stated dimension is the torsion box is 30" wide. Two implied dimensions were that it is 96" long and the height of the back of the short board storage + the height of the front of the short board storage = 48". Not much to go on but not impossible to figure out either.
[Edit: I am obviously not doing pictures the right way]

There were some things I didn't like too. I wasn't crazy about the tool shelves. The fence extension, while novel, wasn't necessary - I can use a roller stand. The deck height was also a bit low for my taste as well. I really don't like bending over a CMS. I can never seem to have enough drawer storage.
After several sketches and calculations and a trip or five to a buddy's shop, I thought I was ready to begin. What follows is the end result. There are still a couple finishing touches left and I'll mention them as I go.
I will be putting either pegboard on the front or maybe just attach tool holders directly to the plywood front.
Top drawers are 1½" deep. Bottom drawers are 3½" deep. Dividers are removable.
The 2 deep drawers on the right are 5½" deep.
