Hello! Years ago, I bought my BT 3000 because my dad had one, and I liked it so much. Age caught him, and I now have 2, both in good working order. I was thinking of putting the two of them on one stand, close together, side by side. I can put the rip blade in one saw, crosscut in the other. I recall someone talked about doing this years ago Anyone ever try this? Lots of interesting combinations come to mind! At any rate, I have a full set of spare parts. Thanks! Seahawk

Sure you can. Two have been put together on a few occasions on home made stands. They were referred to as Frankensaw or frankinsaws, but I can't get them to come up in a search.Hank Lee

It looks like there is something wrong with the search index on the site. I refreshed my local copy of the site and had two threads with franensaw, reindexed the local copy overnight and had 14 pages of hits when I tried it this morning. It seems I have some work to do on the live site.Chr's

The BT3 Faq that is linked in my tag line also talks some about the frankesaw principles

After 4 years of delays, I finally mounted my two BT3000s together. Yes, the base is too small, and is for test purposes. Not sure how far apart I want the saws, either immediately side by side, or far apart to put other tools between. I'll post when I figure it out.1 PhotoComment

A year after I started, I was able too build a suitable base for my Frankensaw (BT3000x2). End pieces are the from the Ryobi standard base, cross supports all new wood, and I have made suitable, retractible casters, foot operated, which mount on the ends. Also made a small shelf on the side for the planer. Clearly, I have simply tossed all the accessories onto the bottom shelf. I also cut the height down to 36", which exactly matches my workbench, so these to provide mutual support. Whatcha think?1 PhotoComment
