motor bracket stripped replace or helicoil?

Miss leading title, I have already brought bracket from (parts warehouse) turned out to be wrong bracket, working with them now.
But I noticed that you all do the helicoil repair, owned saw for around 22 years just found this site now.
Question is there a problem with getting a replacement bracket cost $30 against $90 for heilcoil kit.
The serial # 796905 9418 if that helps.

Replacement bracket is still aluminum and can wear out again if not cared for well. A helicoil is steel on steel and should last forever.

If you can borrow a helicoil kit the cost of one helicoil would be less than the cost of the replacement bracket and more permanent.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

From experience, it's WAY easier to replace the bracket than to perfectly drill, tap, and install the helicoil. If you get it wrong, then it won't work right. The helicoil fix was the only feasible option in the early years of the saw, because the bracket wasn't available as a part.

      There is a difference between the bracket for a BT3000 versus a BT3100. http://www.sawdustzone.org/forum/dis...-motor-bracket

I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any BT3000 parts left, and you might have to go the helicoil route by default.
