    Scale Indicator

I have a used BT3000 that I'm rebuilding. I'm missing the scale indicator that mounts on the fence near the handle. I can't find one anywhere online. Can someone provide me with the dimensions and angle so I can make my own out of lexan? Thank you for your time and help.

    Btossy,

Here's a quick photo, and some dimensions, that I hope will be helpful:

The bend is about 30-degrees and the plastic measures 2-3/4 wide x 2-1/4 overall, including the tab that that the screw fastens through

That tab measures 7/8-inches wide by about 5/8-inches deep.

If you can wait until tomorrow afternoon, I'll make you a sketch of it... I'll have to pull the piece to make the measurements more accurate though, so let me know.

Oops, forgot to mention that this is off my BT3100-1... not sure if there are differences between the two models.

Cwsmith.... My fence is different (I like the bt3100 design better though). The black powder coated piece on the front is solid and no square hole cutout. Thank you for your time and help anyways.Everyone here is very helpful and polite. Anyone have the old style fence?

          Btozzy,

Sorry that I couldn't help. Perhaps there is another member who might be willing to give you some dimensions for the BT3000 model.

In any case, for those other members who might just wish they had dimensions for the BT3100 model fence here is a drawing that may be helpful.

Mine is covered in overspray (paint). I never use it. I measure the fence position with a steel rule.

I measure from the fence, as well. But having the scale on the fence is very handy for quick setup and I do keep my accurate.

Is your table saw a BT3000 and if so, would it be easy to get the dimensions?

              Thanks,

Yes I have the bt3000. I am able to measure with a straight ruler also but I'm trying to teach my brother how to use the table saw (including safety). He has a minor learning disability and I think having some kind of scale indicator would be easier for him. Thanks

BT3000 ripfence cursor. I took some pictures and measurements, the measurements are on the picture. The thickness is 0.069"
Side view you can measure the angle, I was too lazy, it'll be the same angle as the scale bevel on the front rail.

The mounting screw hole slot lets you fine tune the curor to scale distance so the measurements are not critical at all.
You should be able to make something from this.
I use mine all the time. I can set a rip width by eye using the cursor and the pre-calibrated tape position and hit +/- .010" all day long... thats better than 1/64th.

Too much designing the world. Try searching for ryobi parts and or Gardner. They recently had them available in stock so I picked up a couple of extras. They may be on eBay also.
