considering buy of BT3100: router table question

Looking for ways to make the best use of the space in my narrow one-car garage, I started searching for table-saw/router-table combos, and found a lot of people praising the Ryobi BT3000 and BT3100.

Does Ryobi make these for Sears now? I don't see a current model.

I have the Craftsman router below. Will it mount to the stock Ryobi router table insert without a special mounting kit/adapter?

    Thanks

sears sells the 21829 which is basically a BT3100 with some cosmetic enhancements and a portable base. I think the Sears routers fit the hole pattern on the 21829 auxiliary table. THey changed the aux table on the 21829 so that it takes the router directly, no insert plate used any more.

information on the 21829 is in my FAQ (see sig line below.)

Here's a comparision of the BT accessory table and the 21829 accessory table.

        good comparison pics.

Note 1 the BT3x mounting plate from the router mounting kit shown on the right hand picture is the later production mounting plate and earlier plates only had the four-hole Ryobi/Craftsman pattern. Not sure of what year they changed it. Nonetheless its fairly easy to add holes to an aluminum plate, it drills very easily. Use a router base plate for a pattern.

Note 2 the 21829 aux table miter slots won't work well for table saw operations because the aux table has no real mechanism for setting and holding slot parallelism to the blade. They are for router use only.

That was a good comparison thread. Patterns look alike. I'm surprised no BT or Sears saw users responded to it.

I was suprised too, but it was made late on a Sunday night. I didn't know there was a difference in the hole patterns on the BT mounting plates.
