    New Shark Guard

I took delivery of the latest Shark Guard this afternoon. I already had one, but I had been thinking of getting Lee's narrow version, with a bigger port. Timing worked out well and before I pulled the trigger and the LeeWay workshop came out with an improved modular design. It ended up being my prize from the 2x6 challenge, Thanks Stytooner!. (I had hoped to end up with it ) I added all 3 port sizes and a Sanatec ZCTP to the order.

I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. There are some nice improvements and tweaks. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the front roller works and the new clamp design. The differences is port sizes is really surprising when you have them all together. I plan to test out the different port sizes to see how they work with my Jet650 DC and my 21829.

    Here's a couple shots;

Oh, Oh, Oh! That looks like the thing to have.

    I may have to upgrade.

    Regards, Steve

Those look awesome! I would have to continuously remind myself not to tighten the clamp around that dust port I have a habit of over-tightening things.... or so I have been told

I use a 4" to 2 1/2" reducer on my saw right now. The overhead drop will attach to the shark or my router fence. I'm going to have to play around with the connections for the new guard.

Last night I found that a 4" to 4" quick connect sleve fits around the outside of the 4" port. It was a pretty tight fit, not sure how stable it will be during use.

Looks great! Congrats to you both.

Dave - could I ask for a PM with the color and potential asking price on the 10.4?

You should see yours tomorrow, David.
On the dust ports looking a bit fragile, you can torque all you can stand with a hose clamp and you won't effect the port. They are a lot stouter than they look.
In the early years, I had a few snap off where they were welded during shipping. I started letting them fully cure for at least a day before shipping and that ended that happening. I look forward to hearing how these work for you Guys.
                Thanks.
                Lee

Good to know Lee! My darksider will probably want one of those after the shop is done. :-)

That's very nice! I have an early version and the improvements are very slick.

Mine came in today, and I have to say, it looks FAR better in person than Erik's photos show. Mind you, the earlier photos are amazing, and this is a really nice improvement. You did it again Lee!

Detailed review with photos coming soon!
