The article is by a fellow that had a somewhat old Unisaw and was waiting to upgrade his saw to a new version that had a riving knife. Then he came across the ARK (adjustable riving knife) Shark Guard and showed several pictures of the guard/riving knife in action. The writer is the "special projects editor" Matt Kenney. GOOD ADVERTISEMENT!

Not the first time I have had something appear in a magazine, but those were all cartoons in a previous life.

Those publications were nowhere near as cool as Fine Woodworking.

See what you guys started? Hounding me to make you one too.

Not sure if I should say congratulations, or sorry your going to be busier, and less free time.

Lee, out of curiosity...before FWW published the review, did they contact you first with what they intended to publish or did you find out like the rest of us? Did they contact you beforehand to request a sample for a review?

They approached me and asked if I would consider submitting one for possible review. A poor review would not be published and a positive one possibly could be. No other notice after I sent the guard.
A customer mentioned that he had seen a write up and that is when I looked for it.

Congrats Lee! My Shark Guard is an essential component of my BT3100.

As an aside, I wish they WOULD publish less-than-positive reviews so we know what to avoid.
